Trey Crawford Interviewed on Viability of Waiver in Wrongful Death Claim

A husband is suing an off-road rally operator for negligence in the death of his wife, claiming that the waiver they signed does not protect Rednecks With Paychecks from liability. A Fort Worth Star-Telegram article notes that the lawsuit cites the lack of warning signs on the property, located north of Fort Worth, and the lack of access to prompt medical treatment as contributing factors in the women’s death last year. In an interview with the newspaper, the firm’s Trey Crawford says that the existence of a waiver will not matter if a court finds that the event operator acted with gross negligence. “If half of what they allege is true, then I think Rednecks With Paychecks has got massive problems that won’t be solved by the waiver. It’s the type of thing that can get a jury riled up.”
